AMLOGIC will launch new Quad cores A9 CPU AML8726-M8 this summer. It said A9 CPU will run @ 2GHz also 8 cores GPU with 4k video decoding capable. I hope it will be the one more powerful than RK3188 with open source.

OK, I'm new to the AMLogic chips. I see both S802 Quad and M802 Quad being advertised interchangeably. I have seen adds (http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/1554238457/Full_XBMC_Quad_Core_Amlogic_S802.html) for the M802 Quad TV box with the S802 Quad chip listed in the specs. I see tablets advertised listing the M802 Quad as the SoC. I am very confused...

M802 Quad = AML8726-M8?
S802 Quad = AML8276-M8?

Differences?

I want to retire my Atom/ION2 HTPC (XBMC). The RPi I tried just doesn't cut it for Blu-Ray rips over WiFi (300mb/s). RK3188 just isn't "smooth" enough and doesn't appear to be supported for HW decode in XBMC.

Following information on CNX-Software website, I believe they are the same CPU just rename it for different products. For XBMC, I recommend you version of Beyond XBMC beta 3.3 by Flumpster. I run it on my MK808B and get smooth result.
